Jobs Fair 2021

I am delighted to be hosting a Jobs Fair for residents in Fakenham and the surrounding areas at the Racecourse on Friday 29th October from 11:00 - 14:00. If you'd like to come, please do register on the form below!

We are in the middle of a difficult period for business, with many key sectors across Norfolk struggling to recruit the staff they need to operate effectively.  Staff shortages are being exacerbated by the approach to Christmas when many retail, hospitality and tourism businesses face peak demand and take on thousands of additional staff.

Hosting this Jobs Fair is a great opportunity to help young people into the jobs market for the first time as well as the longer-term unemployed back into the labour market.  By far the best way to help low-income families is through worthwhile, well rewarded, jobs and careers, and that is what this Jobs Fair is designed to do.

We have some of Norfolk’s best employers coming to showcase everything from a career in the cab of a combine harvester through to a challenging and satisfying role behind the blue lights of an emergency response vehicle that saves lives and protects the public.

This event couldn't have been hosted without David Hunter and Trudi Moulton at Fakenham Racecourse, who have provided the use of the Prince of Wales Stand to us, completely free of charge, to help out fellow businesses in Norfolk that are struggling to recruit.  We are lucky to have so many public-spirited companies supporting our community here in Fakenham.

If you run a local business and are looking for additional staff, you can email Jerome directly to request a free stall at the fair on jerome.mayhew.mp@parliament.uk
