My Six-Point Plan for Broadland
PROTECTING OUR LOCAL ENVIRONMENT: We need to protect our local environment. I'm continuing my work with local organisations to ramp up our conservation efforts by tackling fly-tipping, reducing emissions, improving sustainable farming and cleaning up our waterways so that we can preserve our green spaces for future generations.
IMPROVING NHS PROVISION: The NHS has been tested more than ever over the past year. I'm working with colleagues across Norfolk to push for the redevelopment of the QEH. I'm also continuing to press for improvements in key services like primary care, emergency care and dentistry provision so that everyone in our community has access to top-quality healthcare.
BACKING BUSINESSES IN BROADLAND: As the former Managing Director of a local tourism business, I understand the importance of supporting our local small and medium-sized enterprises to enable growth. That's why I'm holding a series of local roundtables to find out how local businesses feel they could be better supported so that we can increase local jobs, and grow our local economy in Broadland.
CARING FOR OUR ELDERLY COMMUNITY: The past year has been tough for everyone, especially for the most vulnerable. I'm organising local events right across the constituency to showcase all the social and support services on offer to our retired communities.
THE BEST FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE: Broadland already has great schools. I'm working with the Department for Education and each of our schools to address their needs and help improve attainment so that every child in our community can catch up on lost learning.
MORE POLICE TO TACKLE RURAL CRIME: Keeping our communities safe is a huge priority. The Government is continuing to deliver on its police recruitment targets for Norfolk, and I'll keep up the pressure for emphasis on increasing provision in rural towns, to tackle rural crime and make sure that residents across Broadland feel safe.
