I am pleased to announce that I have been appointed as the Shadow Minister for Small Business, Enterprise and Postal Affairs in the Shadow Department for Business and Trade. This is an interim appointment whilst the party takes time to appoint a new leader.
I look forward to working with the Shadow Secretary of State, Kevin Hollinrake MP in holding the Government to account and pressing them to succeed.
This morning was my first outing on the front bench for the Urgent Question; To ask the Secretary of State for Business and Trade if he will make a statement on financial redress for sub-postmasters and outstanding issues relating to the Post Office Horizon scandal.
The Conservative Government committed to opening the Horizon Convictions Redress Scheme for applications in July, now the Government say they are going to make a statement, is this backsliding?
