This week, I attended a meeting with the Head of International Evidence at the Department for Education to explore the possibility of England joining the next OECD PISA study on financial literacy, and how we might be able to work together to support this. This will play a key role in ensuring permanent and monitored financial education in our schools.
Better teaching on personal finance in schools is a key campaign of mine, and as Chair of the Financial Education for Young People APPG, I will continue to call on the Government to ensure that good quality financial education is provided throughout the school years, creating a vital way to improve financial wellbeing across the generations.
