I was invited by owner Cindy Hall to visit Heydon Village Tea Rooms to hear first‑hand about the pressures facing small hospitality businesses.
Concerns raised included the impact of the Labour Government’s policies, such as increased employer National Insurance contributions, rises to the minimum wage, new day‑one employment rights, VAT rates applied to hospitality and the loss of transitional business rate relief. These issues are particularly challenging for independent rural businesses. https://www.heydonvillageteashop.co.uk/
