Today MPs Jerome Mayhew (Broadland) and Duncan Baker (North Norfolk) met the team at Cromer District Foodbank, to celebrate the launch of Slow Food Aylsham's new budget-busting recipe book, 'Canny Cooking'.

They met with Tim Morton (Project Manager, Cromer District Foodbank), Pete Wenham (Chairman, Cromer District Foodbank), Patrick Prekopp (Chairman, Slow Food Aylsham), and volunteer Viv Edwards, to discuss the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic upon foodbank demand. The new book, 'Canny Cooking', was first produced ten years ago and has now been updated to commemorate the fifteenth anniversary of Slow Food - which was unable to hold its famous food festival this year because of the coronavirus situation.

Cromer Foodbank provides a vital lifeline to people across North Norfolk and has future plans to begin a series of cookery classes for those who have few - or no - cooking skills, to help them make delicious recipes using basic food items. The project has also recently extended its work by providing an 'Energybank', which helps those in need with energy key top-ups, wood, coal, and oil supplies.

You can find out more about the work of Cromer District Foodbank here: https://cromerdistrict.foodbank.org.uk. And further details about Slow Food Aylsham can be found here: https://www.slowfoodaylsham.org.uk.
