Although there are plenty of measures to help with the cost of living, which I welcome, the Budget’s real impact is much more profound. It seeks to tackle some of the structural weaknesses that have bedevilled our economy for decades, holding back growth.

Despite the enormous global headwinds, the U.K. economy is proving the doubters wrong. This Government has taken the measures needed to restore stability. We’ve avoided a recession, and growth is now forecast to return.
This afternoon, I joined with other East of England MPs to lobby the chancellor ahead of the Budget.
Growth pays for everything else, and we need a Budget that delivers growth into our economy so that we can continue to invest in our communities and pay for vital services.
Delighted that Conservative-led Broadland District Council will be freezing council tax for its residents and delivering further support for families and businesses across the district.
